Pula has 60,000 inhabitants and is the biggest city of the Istria region. This region is an important tourist destination thanks to its well-organised network of roads, ports and airports and to its great architectural heritage and the quality of its international cultural programmes.
The port of Pula, which used to be a commercial port, is now mainly devoted to tourism and has developed all the necessary infrastructures for the transport of passengers. Beside tourism, this city is well known for its century-long ship building tradition.
