The great wooden towers symbolise salt extraction from the depths of the earth, an activity that has been carried out in this Bosnian town for thousands of years.
The salt water was put into great terracotta vases and set on braziers to obtain the famous “white gold”.
This natural representation is completed by a white road of salt surrounded by splendid blue and yellow blooms depicting the town’s coat-of-arms.
