The three hills of the Czech city are represented by small hills of flowers (marigolds, begonias, irises); narrow white and grey strips recall the ancient imperial roads and the 112 metre high tower of the Cathedral of St Bartholomew, visible from a great distance: these are the focal points of this garden.
The blossoms framed in the hills symbolise the colours of the city coat-of arms. The “Pilsner Urquel” beer barrel recalls the city’s brewing tradition while the coloured flags represent the privilege to use the sign of the “Flower Cities of Europe” for which Pilsen won the silver prize last year.
