The theme of the sea and the white rocky Dalmatian coastline has been interpreted by the Croatian city in a flowerbed of great dramatic and intensely evocative impact.
With few plant species – groundsel cineraria, ageratum and Gazania – and a masterful use of calcareous rocks, the foamy waves that break on the shore during a storm in the Adriatic have been recreated.
The garden scene is completed by a boat in a safe harbour with a sail that bears the city’s ancient coat-of-arms.
