INFIORE Project

The project aims at improving quantity and quality of urban green areas in the partner cities, in order to promote the environment and the tourist offer of the Adriatic region and improve the quality of life.

In order to attain this objective, the project foresees training courses and common experiences for the experts of the partner cities with a view to setting up a network of “green areas and environment operators” working in the sector of sustainable tourism and promoting quality of life.

In details, the project has the following objectives:

• creation of micro-infrastructures to attract more tourists to the partner cities
• promotion of the culture of “urban green areas” in the adriatic region
• improvement of the image and the tourist offer of the whole region, as well as of the quality of the environment
• promotion of new cultivation techniques and new models for the sustainable  management of nature in the cities through bigger and better public green areas and the improvement of the way these areas are used, in order to enhance the quality of urban green areas in the adriatic region
• promotion of cultural and educational exchanges on the quality of green areas and the quality of life in the cities
• organization of professional training seminars for public operators, technicians, city planners and urban architects
• organisation of the event “Adriatic in bloom” as a further opportunity of cooperation and exchange among the adriatic cities
• drawing up of a joint code of conduct for the sustainable management of green areas in the adriatic region
