INFIORE Project
The general goal of the INTERREG IIIA Adriatic Crossborder Operational Programme (OP), which recently changed to Adriatic New Neighbourhood Programme INTERREG/CARDS-PHARE is to promote the social and economic development and the cooperation between the countries of the Adriatic region, as well as contribute to the creation of a big Adriatic community.
The INFIORE Project, presented by the Municipality of Cervia and co-financed by the above-mentioned Programme, develops over a period of 18 months and focuses on the valorisation of public green areas. Nine institutions participate in the project and are part of the network for the implementation of common actions to enhance public green areas, a fundamental element for the quality of life in the cities, for sustainable development and integrated tourist promotion of the cities of the Adriatic region.
The pilot projects that will be carried out in all partner cities will be the tangible results of cross-border cooperation (a park, a public garden and a high quality flowerbed).
The very nature of the project, based on the cooperation of public institutions of different countries, can contribute to raise the awareness of the importance of Europe, international cooperation and the results it can attain.
